Gulab Jamun



Khoya 1cup
Maida 2.5tbsp
Cooking Soda 1/8 tsp
Pistachios chopped for garnishing

For Syrup
Sugar 1and 1/4 cups
Water 1and 1/4 cups
Rose Essence 2drops
Cardamom powder a pinch


Take khoya in a bowl, mash it well . Add maida , cooking soda and mix well. knead until it gets smooth in texture. If the mixture appears to be dry add small amount of milk into it.

To make the sugar syrup : Take sugar and water in a bowl mix well.Then heat it up and let it boil for at least 10 minutes. Add cardamom powder.

Take little amount of mixture and make a round ball and place it in pan for frying. Fry until it gets golden brown in color in low flame. Drain in tissue and immediately add it to warm sugar syrup. Finally add rose essence.Cover and let it rest for 2 hrs for the jamuns to absorb the sugar syrup well. Garnish it with chopped pistachios.
