Moong Dal Fry

Fried moong dal is a savoury snack that is popular in India. This crispy snack is made by deep frying soaked moong dal and seasoning it with salt, chilli powder and chaat masala. Serve this delicious snack with tea. Try this easy and tasty snack!

Ingredients

1 cup Moong Dal/Green gram dal

½ tsp Kashmiri chilli powder

½ tsp chaat masala

¼ tsp salt

Oil for frying

Method

Soak 1 cup of moong dal in water for 4 hours.

Drain off the water and spread it on a towel for 30 minutes or until all the water is absorbed.

Scoop out little moong dal at a time in a net ladle and fry it in hot oil stirring continuously.

Fry till moong dal turns crisp. Drain off the fried moong dal over a paper towel.

When the moong dal is still hot add chilli powder, chaat masala and salt.

Mix well until the spices are combined well.

Enjoy the crispy moong dal with a cup of tea/ coffee.
