Idli Chaat and Dahi Idli

Idli Chaat

If you love tangy spicy taste of  chaat  then this recipe is for you. This can be served as an appetizer or as an afternoon snack.


6 idlis

2 tbsp ghee

1tsp chilli powder

½ tsp salt

2 tbsp chopped onion

2 tbsp chopped tomato

2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

2 tbsp tamarind chutney

2 tbsp green chutney

2 tbsp curd

1 tsp chaat Masala

2 tbsp sev


Cut the Idlis into 4 pieces. Heat a pan and add 2tbsp ghee.

Then add the Idli pieces, salt and chilli powder to it. Fry it till golden brown in colour.

Add the fried idlis to a bowl. Add chopped onion. Chopped  tomatoes,  chaat masala, green chutney, tamarind chutney, curd and coriander leaves

Sprinkle some sev on the top. Your Idli chaat is ready now.

Dahi Idli

A healthy and refreshing snack for summer time. The lip smacking Dahi Idli recipe is easy to prepare, but extremely flavourful with the tempering of mustard and curry leaves.


6 idlis

1 cup beaten curd

½ tsp Kashmiri chilli powder

¼ tsp roasted cumin powder

Salt to taste

1 tsp oil

½ tsp mustard seed

1 chopped green chilli

Few curry leaves

A pinch of Asafoetida


Cut the idlis into bite size. Place the chopped idlis in a plate.

Pour the beaten curd over the idli.

Sprinkle  salt, kashmiri chilli powder and cumin powder

In a pan add 1tsp oil. When the oil is hot add mustard seeds,  asafoetida , green chilli and curry leaves to it. Add the tempering over the idli.

Now Dahi Idli is ready to serve.
