Dry grapes pickle is made of dried grapes and has a unique flavour and usually served as a side dish for biriyani. If you like sweet and sour pickles, you are going to love this pickled raisins.
Ingredients
100 gram dry grapes
4 or 5 garlic chopped lengthwise
1 tablespoon ginger chopped lengthwise
2tbsp red chilli powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
2 whole red chillies
¼ tsp asafetida
½ tsp mustard seed
¼ tsp fenugreek seed
1 small ball tamarind soaked in ½ cup water
1 tbsp vinegar
1 piece jaggery
Few curry leaves
Salt as needed
Gingelly oil as needed
Method
Heat oil in a pan and add the raisins and stir fry the raisins. Once it is puffed up and ready, remove from oil.
Now add mustard seeds to the oil. When it splutters add fenugreek seeds, whole red chilli and curry leaves
Next add the chopped garlic and ginger. Roast it for a minutes. Now bring the flame to low and add turmeric powder and chilli powder. Roast it well till the raw smell disappears.
Pour the tamarind water and mix it well. Heat it to boil. Now add the jaggery and wait till the gravy becomes thick. Switch off the flame and add the fried raisins and mix well.
Finally add the vinegar, salt and asafetida. Mix it well.
Delicious dried grapes pickle is ready to serve.
