Cocktail Idli in Skewers

Cocktail idlis are just mini idlis arranged in skewers with bell pepper  tossed in mild spices. These idli skewers are so delicious and simple to make ­- the perfect starter for any party.


1 cup idli batter

1yellow capsicum cut in 1 inch cubes

1 red capsicum cut in 1 inch cubes

¼ tsp turmeric powder

½ tsp chilli powder

¼ tsp chaat masala powder

1tsp gun powder or idli podi

2 tbsp oil

A pack of skewer


Grease a mini idli mould with oil and make mini idlis using idli batter

On each skewer  add a cube of red capsicum followed by a mini idli then a yellow capsicum followed by an idli and  finish with red  capsicum cube. Repeat the process for all the skewers

Heat oil in a pan and add turmeric powder, chilli powder, chaat masala and idli podi . Mix well.

Drop in the skewers and sauté till completely coated

Serve cocktail idli immediately once made.
