Paneer paratha a stuffed Indian flatbread made with whole wheat flour, cottage cheese, ghee and spices. Paneer parathas are popular breakfast recipe in Punjabi homes. It is a perfect recipe for lunch box. The best way to have paneer paratha is with curd, homemade white butter or with mango pickle, It can be prepared in any shape like square, round or triangle.
Ingredients
2 cups wheat flour
1 cup grated or crumbled paneer/cottage cheese
1 finely chopped onion
2tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
2 finely chopped green chillies
1 small piece of grated ginger
1tsp chilli powder
1tsp kasuri methi
½ tsp ajwain
Salt as needed
Butter/oil for frying
Method
Add wheat flour and salt to a large bowl and add water gradually and knead into a soft dough
In a bowl add paneer, chopped onion, green chillies and coriander leaves. Also add grated ginger, chilli powder, ajwain , kasuri methi and salt. Mix well and keep aside
Take a small amount of the dough, dust them with flour and roll out the dough to a small circle
Add the stuffing in the centre. Spread them evenly leaving an inch gap at the edges
Fold the dough from three sides to form a triangle, seal the edges by pressing them gently.
Heat a tawa and place the rolled out paratha. Drizzle oil or ghee and cook well on both the sides
Serve hot paneer paratha with raita or pickle
