Caribbean papaya salad

Papayas can be enjoyed in many ways. It can be eaten raw, cooked or mixed into a salad or salsa. Papaya has many excellent health benefits and is a rich source of minerals, fibers and antioxidants. Papaya is native to the tropical areas of Mexico, Central America and South America. We can find papaya growing throughout the Caribbean region. This salad is easy to make and really has a fresh taste.


Half of a ripe papaya

1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves

Juice of half of a lime

½  tsp grated ginger

¼  cinnamon powder

1 chopped green chilli

Pinch of salt

1 tblsp olive oil

3 or 4 drops of honey


Peel and cube papaya into large bite size pieces

Add all the other ingredients.

Stir and refrigerate for 30 minutes and serve immediately.
