Chocolate Buns

Chocolate stuffed buns are delicious  with chocolate chips or chopped chocolate bar baked inside for a melty chocolate surprise. They go perfectly with a cup of coffee and can also be served  for brunch or breakfast



3 cups Maida/All Purpose Flour

1 cup warm milk

2tsp Dry Yeast

2tbsp Butter/Ghee

2tbsp Sugar

Salt to taste

1 cup of choco chips or chopped chocolate bar



Take a bowl and add one cup luke warm milk, sugar and yeast.

Mix  properly and rest for 10 minutes to activate the yeast


In a separate bowl add flour, salt an butter and mix gently

Now add the yeast mixture and make a soft dough. add some lukewarm water if needed. Cover and keep aside the dough to rest for 11/2 hours or till it double in volume


Punch dough down, and divide into 12 equal portions and shape each portion into a round ball

Make an indent in each ball and place 1 tablespoon chocolate chips inside of this

Cover the chocolate with the dough and roll it into a ball again and place the rolls on a greased baking tray


Cover it with a kitchen towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes

Brush the top of the buns with milk

Preheat the oven to 200 degree c and bake buns for 12-15 minutes until they are golden brown


Remove from the oven and apply melted butter on the top

Enjoy with a cup of hot coffee
