Ingredients
Grated coconut 2cup
Jaggery 2cup
Rice flour 2 cup
Water 2 cup
Cardamom powder 1 tsp
Method
Heat a pan and add the grated coconut and Jaggery . Stir for 5 minutes
Add cardamom powder and cook for another 5 minutes. when the jaggery starts to thickens switch off the flame
Boil the water with salt. When the water bubbles up switch off then add the rice flour and mix with a laddle
when it becomes warm and can handle with with your hands grease our hands with oil and knead it into a soft dough and make lemon sized balls
Grease the inner portion of the mould with oil, take a 3/4th portion of the dough from one ball. put the dough into the mould. using your fingers spread the dough on the walls of the mould. place the filling into the mould and seal it with the remaining 1/4th portion of the dough, seal it well. level the dough with finger, carefully open the mould and place it on a plate.
Steam this in a steamer for 10 minutes. Modak is ready to serve.
