Khubz with Hummus

Kuboos or Khubz is an Arabian pita bread/flat bread made with wheat flour or all purpose flour. Khubz is usually baked in hot oven but here we are making it in a flat non stick pan


Ingredients for Khubz

Wheat flour                              2cups

Yeast                                            1 1/2 tsp

Luke warm milk                      1 cup

Olive oil/veg.oil                       2tbsp

Sugar                                          1 tbsp

Salt a pinch


Add yeast to lukewarm  milk along with  sugar and leave it for 5 minutes

To flour add salt and oil and start kneading pouring  the yeast  mixture

Dough should be smooth and not sticky or rough . If needed  add little water

Keep  the dough in a warm place covered with wet  cloth for  three hours

After 3 hours take the dough punch out  air and knead

Make balls and roll. Leave it for  15 to 20 minutes

Cook on hot tawa without oil

It  will bubble  up first then flip sides and cook till golden brown and puffed up.


Hummus with pita bread is a classic middle eastern snack .hummus dip is commonly eaten with pita bread but could also be eaten with Naan or Sandwiches/Burgers

Skin pealed and

cooked chick peas                  ½  cup

Tahini                                           ¼ cup

Lemon juice                                3 tbsp

Garlic                                             2 clove(optional)

Olive oil                                        ¼  cup

Salt to taste

Add  tahini  lemon juice, chana dal, olive oil,garlic and salt to a blender.
Blend well till it forms a smooth  paste
Serve hummus with a drizzle of olive oil
Dry roast ¼ cup sesame seeds slightly
Transfer sesame seeds to a blender and add olive oil
Blend until smooth by adding additional oil if needed
