Coconut Milagai podi


Roasted Ingredients




Chana Dal                             1/2 cup

Urad Dal                                 1/2 cup

Coconut                                   1/2 cup

Red chillies                            15 nos

Sesame seeda                        2 tblsp

Asafoetida                               1/4 tsp

Salt                                             as needed

oil                                                2 tblsp



In a pan add 1/2 tsp of oil and add channa  dal. Roast it till golden brown and keep aside

Again in the same pan add oil and add urad dal and roast it till golden brown and keep aside

Next roast red chillies

In the same pan add fresh coconut and dry roast in medium flame , take it out and keep aside

Dry roast the sesame seeds till they pop up

Switch off the flame and then add salt and asafoetida

Allow all the ingredients to cool completely and grind it to a fine powder

Store it in air tight container

Enoy with idile or dosa or with rice
